My story’s pretty simple.
I’ve been painting since the summer of 2008. Started after having seen this
incredible form of art where it is best viewed: the streets. On a trip to Philadelphia,
an artist, whom I unfortunately never got to know the name, was on his knees
spraying paint all over a poster board in random patterns, and moments later
would suddenly appear planets, mountains and skyscrapers. Needless to say I was
dumbfounded! Completely astonished! I still have the painting I bought up on my
wall, even had it framed. I fell in love with this art form the moment I
discovered it and since then paint when the weather permits it.
I
have no formal training in any way in arts. All the techniques I use have either
been learned through instructional DVD’s (made by Spraycasso and Brandon McConnell),
or have been self-taught. I recently joined McConnell site which is pretty much
the epicentre of the online spraypaint community both with spacepaints.com and
myspacepaintings.com. It’s just fun to watch and learn from all the talent
there is on there, the masterpieces that are created and presented on the site
are jaw dropping. I’m still finding new ways to better myself and my style is
constantly evolving.
Hopefully you’ll find
something you like here, and maybe leave a comment or two. It is said that practice
makes perfect, so any criticism is always welcome.
Enjoy!
